On Saturday November 8th 2008, The Savage Foundation provided an opportunity for transportation to the annual Fall Fling Student Day at the University of Virginia free of charge to 15 Richmond area students as well as several parents. The Fall Fling gives academically qualified African-American students a chance to visit the University and learn about what it has to offer, how it can assist students in gaining admission, and if need be, qualify for financial aid. "Often, students cannot get transportation to events such as these and we sought to remove that barrier. I believe an academically gifted student should not be prevented from achieving their dreams merely because they couldn't get a ride," said Rich Savage, Executive Director of the Savage Foundation.
